Sinya Reformer Root

Training description
Sinya Reformer Root is the first professional module of reformer work in the Sinya Pilates system – based on the foundations of biomechanics, precise cueing, breath quality, and segmental control. The training introduces participants to the world of dynamic resistance, closed kinematic chain work, and learning to lead movement with intention, not through force. This training opens the path to reformer specialization in the Sinya Pilates system. It provides a solid foundation for further work with this versatile equipment. Participants will learn proper reformer and client body positioning, spring operation, starting positions, and safe exercise introduction in various positions – supine, kneeling, and support positions. The training’s goal is to teach conscious, functional work based on Pilates principles and prepare you to independently conduct group and individual classes at a fundamental level. To teach neutral pelvis and spine positioning and adapting exercise form to participants’ actual capabilities – without overloading, without copying, with full responsibility for function. In the spirit of the Pilates system, this training is also perception training, where we learn to read micro-shifts in posture, conduct lessons with spatial intention, and work on multiple levels: physical, neuromotor, and perceptual. The Reformer here does not serve visual effect – it serves to create a coherent relationship: movement – breath – axis – space.

Equipment technique and setup. Reformer operation basics (springs, footbar, shoulder rests, box, straps). Spring operation: resistance, intensity, function. Safety principles. How to spot, how to prevent accidents.

Biomechanics and functional stabilization Neutral pelvis and spine. Breath integration with core activation. Closed and open chain work. Positioning relative to springs and movement direction.

Cueing, observation, and progression Verbal and visual communication in group and individual work. Building sequences in relation to space and axis. Movement quality analysis – compensatory tensions, asymmetries. Teacher’s response to what “happens in the body,” not just to form.

Teaching practice and lesson planning How to structure lessons according to student level. How to develop lessons progressively from supine to kneeling and support positions. How to analyze resistance response and modify lessons “in the moment.”

This training is dedicated to Pilates instructors, physiotherapists, and movement teachers who want to introduce into their practice a conscious, professionally-founded method of reformer work. It is the starting point for further Sinya Flow and Coreline levels, but also a solid foundation for conducting safe group classes and therapeutic sessions.

Sinya Reformer Flow

Training description

Sinya Reformer Flow is the second level of reformer education in the Sinya Pilates system. This training is a fluid transition from teaching exercises to creating complete lessons, where rhythm, space, and control are as important as technique.

Participants learn to build flow sequences where exercises are not separate entities but emerge from one another. This is the moment when the teacher becomes a movement composer: managing transition, pause, direction, breath. Tempo serves as a transformation tool.

In accordance with the spirit of Sinya Pilates, each exercise is analyzed in terms of stabilization, pelvis and spine positioning, limb pattern control, and resistance adaptation. Here we also focus on spatial quality – on how the body enters movement, how it continues it, how it stops, and how it releases.

Create coherent and fluid lessons in flow format with awareness of transitions, tempo, and structure
Work with rhythm and timing from calm, spiral sequences to dynamic movement chains. Build group classes at intermediate level while maintaining correction and progression. Learn to lead through space and axis – using verbal and visual cueing. Create thematic lesson sections: “elongation,” “core & spiral,” “fluidity & flow,” “rotation & balance.” Distinguish exercise intention from its form – and teach this to others.

This training is directed at instructors who have completed Sinya Reformer Root and want to advance to the next level of teaching – from learning movement to creating lessons, from exercise to choreography, from control to leading through quality. Particularly recommended for group Pilates class teachers, studio instructors, and trainers seeking modern, dynamic tools for reformer work.

Sinya Reformer Coreline

Training description

Sinya Reformer Coreline is the third level of professional reformer education in the Sinya Pilates system, which allows integration of small props – rollers, rings, and balls with classical repertoire. This is more than “diversifying” classes – it is a transformation of movement quality through sensory stimulation, proprioceptive challenges, and deepening segmental awareness.

Participants learn how to use equipment not only as resistance, but as a mirror of body response – how the roller poses questions about balance, how the ring asks for subtle resistance, and how a small ball reveals unconscious tensions in the pelvis, spine, or shoulder girdle.

In the Sinya Pilates approach, we learn progressive work, with control of resistance vectors and exercise modification depending on participant level. In the Sinya spirit, we explore relationships: body – prop – space – surface – intention.

Ring (Magic Circle): Isometric resistance, limb and center activation. Aid in sensing deep muscle tension. Support for corrective exercises in pelvis and girdle. Roller: Instability tool – sharpens body line sensing. Fascial mobilization and spine elongation. Balance training and deep coordination.

Easy Ball: Light ball as support point, assistance, or stability disruption. Local muscle activation. Axis integration in spiral and asymmetric movement.

Using equipment as a lesson individualization tool. Modifying classical exercises for therapeutic, athletic, or balancing purposes
Designing lessons with sensory themes: stability, elongation, balance, core. Selecting equipment according to participant level and class objective
Recognizing compensations and micro-tensions during resistance work. Perfecting cueing based on sensory experience effect. Creating hybrid lessons – using equipment as both support and challenge in one session.

For certified reformer instructors (after Flow level) who want to increase the depth, attractiveness, and effectiveness of their classes. Module ideal for working with clients requiring special approach: in therapy, motor preparation, overload prevention.
