Barbara Trylska-Nowakowska
Second Generation Pilates Master Teacher
Founder of Flow Pilates | MK Pilates Poland Master Trainer
Barbara Trylska-Nowakowska is one of the most experienced Pilates instructors in Poland and one of the few in Europe who can say that their education leads directly to the source of the method.
She began her journey in the world of movement in 1995 as a fitness instructor. Over the years of working in Krakow clubs, she developed various forms of training, but over time her interest increasingly turned toward the body & mind approach—a philosophy that combines physical work with mindfulness, breath, and movement awareness. It was there that she found the space that best reflected her way of thinking about movement and health.
First came Pilates. Later, yoga and bodyART. However, the Pilates method became the central focus of her professional path.
A pivotal moment in her education was her encounter with a teaching lineage derived directly from the creator of the method, Joseph Pilates. Barbara completed a two-year Pilates Master Mentor Program in the United States led by Lolita San Miguel—one of Joseph Pilates’ direct students and a representative of the first generation of teachers of this method.
Upon completing the program, she earned the title of Second Generation Pilates Master Teacher, which means she was trained directly by a first-generation teacher. As a result, her knowledge and experience remain in the direct lineage of the Pilates method. Barbara is the only person in Poland to have completed this program.
She also obtained authorization to teach Lolita’s Legacy, a program designed to train future generations of Pilates instructors in the spirit of Lolita San Miguel’s work.
Previously, Barbara completed the full training cycle in the Michael King system, covering work on both the mat and all professional Pilates studio equipment—Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrel. Since 2013, she has been an MK Pilates Master Trainer in Poland, conducting training for Pilates instructors as part of MK Pilates Poland.
Her education also includes numerous specialized courses, workshops, and international Pilates conferences. She has participated in events such as the Pilates Heritage Congress in Germany and training sessions led by renowned teachers of the classical lineage of the method.
Barbara is also a licensed bodyART instructor and a yoga instructor. Her approach to working with the body is based on a harmonious combination of strength, mobility, movement awareness, and mindful breathing.

She is the founder of Flow Pilates in Krakow—a studio created out of passion for working on Pilates equipment and developing conscious movement. The studio was born from a dream that emerged many years earlier when, during a stay in London, Barbara first saw Pilates classes on professional equipment. That experience made the Reformer a symbol of the Pilates studio she wanted to create one day.
Today, Flow Pilates is a space where years of experience, the tradition of the method, and a contemporary approach to working with the body come together in the practice of conscious movement.
